Nigerian music icon, 2baba’s annual live concert, Buckwyld and Breathless has been touted as one of the few, if not the only scripted show in the country.
Following the success of the 2016 edition headlined by the incredible MI Abaga and 2baba himself, this year’s show is set to pull three times the weight. With two of Africa’s top-selling performers, Tiwa Savage and Flavour headlining the show alongside convener 2baba, this show may be giving other end-of-year concerts a breathless run for their money.
Themed #TheLagosDream, the 2017 edition of Buckwyld and Breathless is packed a range of unique features but two stand out the most. In an interview with YNaija, 2baba mentioned that the concert will double as a history class for the audience. True to its theme, the Buckwyld show will be a platform to learn new truths about the city of Lagos.
Additionally, the lineup of performers at Buckwyld and Breathless will be putting up their best acts, thanks to the long hours that have been invested in rehearsals. Koga Studios has been home to the artistes in the past week and each of them have repeatedly gone over their lines and moves to ensure a near perfect delivery come Sunday night.
Buckwyld and Breathless will hold on 22 October at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island. Although we’re excited about the show’s headliners, 2baba says a number of A-list artistes – Timaya, Kiss Daniel, Efya, 2kay, Kelly Hansome etc – will be “saying hi” to the audience as well.
The man, 2baba promises that fans will leave the show “breathless” and we await that experience.
