President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said he was disheartened by the news of a bomb blast in a motor park in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State.
Buhari said the incident which claimed the lives of 8 persons was a cowardly attack on “soft targets” by Boko Haram.
He also sent his condolences to families of the victims and the Borno State government.
He said, “I am disheartened by the news of the bomb blast in Maiduguri. My condolences to the families of the victims, and to the Borno State Government.
“Unable to hold territory, the severely degraded terrorist group now occasionally resorts to cowardly attacks on soft targets.
“I commend our military for their unflagging efforts. This attack has further strengthened our resolve to completely neutralize Boko Haram.”
