Today we learnt our Vice President has N94M in the bank

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, have finally declared their assets. This was disclosed in a statement by the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Thursday.

Shehu said the documents submitted to the CCB, which officials say are still being vetted and will soon be made public. A little snippet of what was made available to the public:

The President

  1. Less than N30 million in just one bank, Union bank
  2. Five homes – two in Kaduna, one in Kano, Daura, and Abuja respectively.
  3. Two mud houses in Daura
  4. Shares in Berger Paint, Union Bank, Skye Bank
  5. Two undeveloped plots of land – Kano and Port-Harcourt
  6. A farm, an orchard, and a ranch
  7. 270 herds of cattle, 25 sheeps, 5 horses, variety of birds and a number of economic trees
  8. An undisclosed number of cars. 2 bought from his savings, others supplied by FG, others donated by well wishers.

The Vice-President

  1. N94 million and $900,000 in his bank accounts
  2. Four homes – a 4-bedroom residence at Victoria Garden City, a 3-bedroom flat in Ikoyi, a 2-bedroom flat along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and a 2-bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England.
  3. Shareholding in his law firm, SimmonsCooper, as well as in six Lagos-based private companies – Octogenerium Ltd., Windsor Grant Ltd., Tarapolsa, Vistorion Ltd., Aviva Ltd. and MTN Nigeria.
  4. 3 personal vehicles – Infinity 4-Wheel Drive SUV, one Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Prado.
