Buhari writes Obiano over Anambra church attack

The Presidency on Wednesday said President Muhammadu Buhari has written a letter to Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano to condole him on the church attack in Ozubulu area of the state.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

He described the incident as a “shocking and cowardly attack on worshippers”.

“The nation is one at deploring this monstrous crime.

“Please, convey to the families and friends of those killed, my condolences for this utterly dastardly crime.

“Please, also convey my considerations and sympathies to the people of Ekwusigo Local Government Area for this tragic attack,” Buhari wrote.

Shehu said in a similar letter, the President condoled with a former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido over the death of his daughter.

He said the President requested the former governor to “please convey to your family members, friends, friends and associates of the deceased my sympathies.

“May Almighty Allah forgive her and may He forgive us when our time comes.”
