Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal | YNaija.com

Senate President, Bukola Saraki will take his tribunal case to the Supreme Court, after being denied by the Court of Appeal.

Saraki was charged by the Code of Conduct Bureau, with a 13-count charge of false assets declaration, which took place back in 2003, when he was Kwara state governor.

He challenged the legality, composition and jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, at the Appeal Court.

On Friday morning, the Court of Appeal ruled that the tribunal was properly constituted and has the jurisdiction to initiate criminal proceedings against him.

Unsatisfied with the ruling, Saraki is expected to further challenge the decision, in an attempt to put a stop to the trial.

Lead lawyer of Saraki’s legal team, Mohammed Mogaji, revealed after the Appeal Court ruling, that Saraki would file a further appeal at the Supreme Court.
