Enchanté! See Chanté Moore live in concert this August

by Yemi Olowu

One of America’s legendary female vocalists, Chanté Moore is set to visit Lagos for a charity concert,  which will also feature some of Nigeria’s finest musicians, including R n B crooner, Banky W and the rave of  the moment WizKid. The event is organized in support of the True Health Foundation for the treatment of acute renal failure.

Chanté Moore, is  the daughter of a minister, who grew up on gospel music and albums by George Duke and Lee Ritenour, sometimes applying her lyrics to their music. Moore decided as a teenager that she wanted to become a singer after an inspirational performance in a high-school rendition of The Wiz.

The choice of Moore as the headlining artiste, despite her declining popularity on the global music scene, is predicated on the fact that between 2006 and 2010, she had to personally deal with chronic kidney failure with the attendant huge costs for dialysis. She had a successful organ transplant in May 2010. It is the realisation of how close she was to death, while many less privileged persons across the world were not that lucky, that has made her commit herself to the service of humanity.

Powered by Virtual Xchange, the event is scheduled to hold at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, by 6pm on Saturday, August 20th 2011.
