Chelsea interim coach, Guus Hiddink to retire from coaching

Guus Hiddink would be heading out the door at the end of the season and he’s also set to retire from coaching in the summer of 2016.

The 69-year-old is on a rescue mission for the second time at Stamford Bridge, after taking over from Jose Mourinho in December following the club’s disastrous start to the season.

Hiddink has helped the Premier League champions regain some solidity and only suffered his first defeat of the season when his side was beaten 2-1 by Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League last 16.

The former Netherlands boss told reporters on Saturday, at a press conference that he will not go into another coaching role once he leaves North London.

He said: “I feel fit, I feel fresh and, every morning, I go with a smile,” he said. “Although we have a difficult time when there’s a loss, I love to go to Cobham, to the training field, so I feel fresh. On the other hand, young people must take over and I must retreat a bit. I will visit Chelsea often next season but I’m not thinking of working elsewhere.”

This news comes in the wake of reports that Atletico Madrid’s head coach, strong>Diego Simeone is taking English language classes as he prepares to take over coaching duties at the English club in the summer.
