CNBC apologizes to Ezekwesili for its tweet that Oteh is the first African woman to be World Bank VP

CNBC Africa has acknowledged their mistake and apologized to the former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili on the error made on Friday stating that Arunma Oteh is World Bank first African woman VP.

CNBC tweeted its apology on Saturday on its twitter handle, Ezekwesili responding to the tweet said she has since accepted their apology.

“Oteh however is not the first African woman to be appointed to powerful positions at the World Bank. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was one of its managing directors (October 2007–July 2011) and Obiageli Ezekwesili, was vice president Africa Region (May 2007-May 2012)”
