How cultists killed mate at girlfriend’s party in Ondo

A 21-year-old student simply identified as Bolaji was recently murdered by suspected cultists at a birthday party he organised for his girlfriend in Ondo.

According to the Sun, a clash between two rival cult groups during the ceremony claimed the life of the host, alleged to be a member of one of the cult groups in the town.

The deceased who was said to have come from a wealthy family organised the event for his girlfriend unaware that members of the rival cult group would attack him.

Sources said a friend introduced the deceased to a leader of Eiye Confraternity who after a minor argument used a dangerous weapon to kill him in the presence of his girlfriend and other guests.

This led to serious clash between the two rival cult groups and brought an abrupt end to the birthday party. The rival groups had earlier clashed at Ijoka Street, Ondo, where dangerous weapons and charms were also used before some of them later met at the party. The incident caused pandemonium as many residents identified the deceased (Bolaji) as a strong member of a cult group.

Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Enuwa Police Division, Ondo, Mr. Kunle Omisakin, confirmed the incident, saying that the police were already working hard to arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
