Tragedy struck at Ihiala, Anambra state on Thursday after a truck belonging to Dangote cement ran into road users, instantly killing 7 persons and leaving many others injured.
The truck had veered off the road and plunged into the gutter right in front of a filling station.
A source said about 25 persons were later confirmed dead, most of whom were hawkers.

It was gathered that the driver took to his heels as soon as the incident occurred.
An ambulance later arrived to transfer the corpses to a nearby mortuary.
