The trial of former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode at the Federal High Court Abuja was on Wednesday stalled because of the former minister’s ill health.
Fani-Kayode is being tried for allegedly receiving N26m from a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki ahead of the 2015 general elections.
The former minister was the Director of Media and Publicity in the campaign organisation of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Legal counsel to the former minister, Wale Balogun said his doctors advised him against appearing in court even though he wished to.
Balogun also showed Justice John Tsoho a letter from an undisclosed hospital where the former minister was said to be receiving treatment.
Balogun begged the court for an adjournment of the trial.
Prosecuting counsel, Johnson Ojogbane did not object to the request, stating that it was the accused first time of asking for an adjournment.
Justice Tsoho then adjourned till February 6.
