Following the public outbursts between Davido and Dele Momodu, it appears that the family of the singer are still in custody of baby Imade.
Davido’s family are at loggerheads with the family of the baby’s mother, Sophia Momodu, over the custody of Imade.
Punch Newspapers spoke with a member of the Momodu family who said that the Adelekes have maintained that only the court could take the baby away from them.
The family member was quoted as saying: “We have been told that only the court can take the baby away from them. But we also want to know if they took the baby away from the mother through the court. The baby’s mother is heartbroken and cries everyday over the matter.”
Sometime last week, Sophia Momodu, had through her lawyers, petitioned the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
She petitioned the agency with an allegation that the Adelekes had abducted and planned to travel abroad with her baby daughter without her consent.
To this effect, Punch further reports that the Lagos zone of the agency has invited the two families for a meeting next week.
