Dear Kcee, stop confusing us! What exactly do you want from Harrysong?

This whole thing Kcee is doing with Harrysong lacks clarity of purpose but we’re open to a narration of the authentic tale behind all of it, if Kcee is willing to share. What are we even saying? We deserve to know what’s in Kcee’s shoes that pinches so deep since we’re faintly aware of where it pinches.

The battle for … (supremacy, relevance, fame etc. pick your choice. we don’t know too) has been well over eight months coming. It launched full blast with accusations of a breach of contract terms after Harrysong launched his record label in November 2016 while still under a three-year contract with Kcee’s Five Star Music.

Quick Backstory

The widely-publicised rift was hinged on Harrysong’s exit from the label and the claims he made to being the brain behind the hits that artistes on the label, particularly Kcee churned out. A member of his team even called Kcee “talentless”. Somebody’s ego had just been bruised and Harrysong had to pay for it somehow.

In January, Five Star Music issued a heavily-worded statement against Harrysong that detailed the transactions between both parties and did not fail to highlight every of the label’s investment in his life and career. The point was clear: Five Star Music made Harrysong into whatever he lays claim to now and they would tell that story to everyone who cares to hear it.

Harrysong and his manager got arrested sometime in February “over alleged defamation” and was made to apologise to Kcee and the label in a press conference. We were all relieved after this, we saw the photos, it was all over. Everyone could now return to making hits individually while the consumers determined who was actually helping the other.

It took only four months with two singles that followed back to back in March and April (do not read between the lines) for Kcee to return with another accusation. This time, Harrysong had breached his fundamental human right. It was frankly another “What is it this time? E never do?” moment for most of us and we waited for clarification.

Today’s news

Kcee arrived in all the glory of his pettiness and said in an interview, “When Harrysong was with us, we paid for his video shoots. He never travelled with his money and I am saying that with all confidence. I challenge him to contradict what I am saying. When I met Harrysong, he had no visa on his passport. We gave him his visas. He travelled business class even when he had yet to release any song under Five Star. He started travelling business class locally and internationally just to build self-esteem and confidence. We did all that because we wanted him to live like a king as a Five Star artiste. He travelled on a five star level. He shot all his videos internationally and I can show you all the invoices.

Uncle Five Star, you brag too much. We have reason to believe that whatever lush life you treated your former label mate to was not done under duress. He was part of the team and with his contract, he may have been entitled to all that. If we decide to push it, we may even suggest that your willingness to have him travel business class when he had not released any song under the label falls neatly in line with the claims that he was kept in the label to salvage your own dying career, Kcee. So you had no options than to treat him good. But we won’t say that (or we just did? Gaddem).

On a more serious note, Five Star Music has released a statement claiming “some individuals (unnamed) are threatening Kcee’s life and his reputation”. If there’s any truth in that, then sue away. But if it’s about the five star level treatment bullshit Kcee is bragging about, then he needs to get into the studio and make it into a hit track, otherwise just shut up.
