A diesel thief, John Aboy, was electrocuted by an electric barbed fence while trying to steal diesel from a compound, in Plateau
The incident reportedly happened around 3 am on Monday, 29 September.
The deceased and two other accomplices tried to scale the barbed wire fence into the compound to steal diesel, when Aboy, who led the group got shocked to death by electricity current.
After seeing their leader get electrocuted, the other members of the gang fleed the scene.
Residents of the area woke up to find the lifeless body of Aboy, hanging on the electric fence. Subsequently, Police officers on patrol arrived the scene and took away the corpse.
Meanwhile, Plateau State Police spokesperson, DSP Abuh Emmanuel, implored people with criminal tendencies to look for legitimate ways to make a living.
