Senator Dino Melaye will retain his seat as a member of the 8th National Assembly, representing Kogi West after the state election Tribunal upheld his election.
Smart Adeyemi of the Peoples Democratic Party had dragged him before the tribunal, but the petition was dismissed on the technicality that it was filed out of time.
Consequently, the Federal Appeal court ruled that the case should be heard again.
After conclusion of hearing, a verdict upholding Melaye’s election was given on Monday morning in Lokoja.
The joyous Melaye took to his Twitter handle, to relay the news.
