A 44-year-old man, Saheed Taiwo of Sango area, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, is set to divorce Azeezat, his wife of six years, for being wayward.
Praying before an Ilorin Area Court in the state, Taiwo said his wife was in the habit of making friends with men claiming they were her business partners.
“My wife always receives phone calls and text messages from different men every time and claim they were her customers,” he said.
He cited an instance when a man dropped his wife in front of their house around 10pm.
Taiwo said their marriage was contracted in 2008 and had produced two children.
“My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I can’t cope with her dirty habit and wayward lifestyle any more,” he said.
Meanwhile Azeezat says she is still interested in the marriage.
“My husband is too jealous and I have explained to him that they are just customers and nothing more, but he refused to trust me,” Azeezat said.
She promised to be courteous while dealing with her customers and appealed for an adjournment to enable her reconcile with her husband.
The judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case till July 9.
