Dogara, others demanded houses, cars from me – Bauchi gov.

Bauchi state governor Mohammed Abubakar has accused Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, and other lawmakers from the state in the National Assembly of demanding Jeeps and houses in Abuja from him.

According to Daily Trust Abubakar made the disclosure at the weekend during the 56th anniversary of the country, stating that the lawmakers were doing all within their power to frustrate and pitch him against the people of the state.

He said, “At a time, the National Assembly members met me in a certain place where they requested that I should buy houses for them in Abuja and luxury jeep cars, but I told them that even if I’m bathing in a pool of money, I cannot afford to meet their demands.

“I’m ready to give them any assistance they may require, but not houses or cars, especially with the present economic predicament.”

According to him, attempts to resolve their differences have proved abortive as the lawmakers have failed to appear for reconciliatory meetings.
