School resumption date may be reviewed by the National Council of Education as the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu hinted at a reduction in the alert level on Ebola.
Chukwu who spoke with newsmen after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja based his statement on the measure so far taken to contain the Ebola virus.
He said only two people are currently being treated for Ebola virus disease in the country. According to the minister, eighteen cases have so far been reported in the country, fourteen were diagnosed in Lagos while four were diagnosed in Port Harcourt, Rivers.
The Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, had on Tuesday, August 26 announced the extension of the resumption of schools to October 13, to curtail the spread of the disease.
