The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to win the Edo State governorship election as its candidate Godwin Obaseki has won in 12 of the 16 Local Government Areas announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Obaseki has 293,549 votes against 228,682 polled by his closest challenger, Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Obaseki claimed majority of the votes in Akoko Edo, Ikpoba/Okha, Etsako West, Etsako East, Etsako Central, Owan East and Owan West.
He also secured victory in Ovia North East, Egor, Igueben, Uhunwomnde and Oredo LGAs.
While Ize-Iyamu who has already rejected the results won in Esan Central, Esan Southeast, Esan and Orhionmwon.
