EFCC quizzes FUTA VC, Bursar over alleged fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday probed the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Adebiyi Daramola for alleged fraud, Premium Times reports.

The VC was quizzed alongside Bursar of the institution, Emmanuel Oresegun at the anti-graft agency’s Ibadan office.

It was gathered that the duo were questioned for misappropriation of funds reported against them.

The Zonal Head of Public Affairs of the EFCC, Ayo Oyewole said they were being investigated for “corruption, fraud, criminal breach of trust, unlawful enrichment and conversion of millions of Naira of the university”.

“The Vice Chancellor allegedly drew furniture allowance annually instead of once in 4 years as approved and was paying himself housing allowance while residing in the University’s Vice Chancellor’s Quarters,” he added.
