We engage in thorough investigations before arresting anyone – EFCC boss, Magu

Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu on Monday said the commission engages in thorough investigations before arresting corrupt persons.

Magu spoke at the National Open Government Partnership retreat taking place in Kaduna.

The EFCC boss dismissed reports that the commission has been selective in its fight against corruption.

He said, “I’m here today because this event hás to do with transparency and accountability in governance and you should know that anything that has to do with fighting corruption is an area of interest to me.

“It’s not true that we are selective in the fight against corruption. Whoever we arrested for corruption must be guilty of it.  We are also making progress in this fight even though it’s not our fight alone, it’s a fight for all of us as people of this country.”
