Entertainment Roundup: AY says Nollywood is a snitching community; Nick Cannon defends Kevin Hart | Other top stories

Here’s everything you missed in entertainment yesterday and others that unravelled while you slept – and are still buzzing today.

AY calls out the Nollywood community

Ayo Makun

The comedian says Nollywood is a backstabbing community – quoting Kevin Ikeduba’s video.

“As a growing actor and a movie producer, NOLLYWOOD has exposed me to both the good, the bad and ugly. Barely few years in the industry, I have experienced all sorts from the stables of the high and mighty self-entitled ‘stakeholders’, to the very insecure individuals whose only claim to fame is an old testament fact of “We started this industry”. The above post by @kevinikeduba has given me the courage to further introduce you to our Nollywood. So welcome to an industry where rivalry and fakeness is fast becoming a legacy designed for posterity. Welcome to a backstabbing community where some pretend to love you in the open and condemn all your determination and efforts to succeed when you are not there. Welcome to an industry where enmity reigns supreme… Eg “If you are using her in the movie, then I can’t be on it”, or “I can’t be in your film and not play the lead role”.

Leonardo DiCaprio forced to return Oscar amid investment scandal

DiCaprio, who won his own award in 2016 for The Revenant after five previous nominations, four of which were for acting, was ordered to return the little gold man that was awarded to Marlon Brando in 1954 for On The Waterfront because it is part of an ongoing court case regarding investment fraud.

Malaysian financier Jho Low, who financed The Wolf Of Wall Street, gave Leonardo the award after originally buying it at an auction for $600,000 but Low is now accused of committing billions of dollars of fraud.
