Entertainment Roundup: Blackface says 2Baba has done nothing for Nigeria’s music industry; Meek Mill sentenced to 2-4 years in prison | More stories

Here’s everything you missed in entertainment yesterday and others that unraveled while you slept – and are still buzzing this Tuesday morning.

Blackface full of advice for 2Baba

Former member of Plantashun Boiz, Blackface was a guest on Pulse NG’s Loose Talk Podcast where he sounded off about his longtime friend turned rival, 2Baba Idibia.

Blackface is of the opinion that 2Baba is an underachiever who has yet to truly contribute anything to the Nigerian music industry.

He said, “He is just that kind of artist. If you check his music right now, you can see the difference. You can’t compare his music right now to Plantashun Boiz’s music. It’s nowhere close. Melody wise, music wise, sound wise, he is nowhere close.”

Blackface also talked a lot about how he met 2Baba, how he helped his budding career, helped him choose a name and taught him about professionalism in music.

Meek Mill sentenced to jail for breaking his parole agreement (again)

Rapper, Meek Mill has been sentenced for 2 to 4 years in prison for violating his probation and has been taken into custody.

According to NBC News, a Pennsylvania judge Grenece E. Brinkley “cited a failed drug test and unapproved travel, stemming from a 2008 gun and drug case.” Meek had also been placed on a 90-day house arrest for violating a 2016 probation.

In response to the sentence, Jay-Z wrote on Facebook, “The sentence handed down by the Judge – against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer – is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career”.

Comedian Kevin Hart also shared on Instagram:

Celebrities are protesting the sentence and are demanding that Meek be freed with the hashtag #FREEMEEK

Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith donate $5 million to Tyrese for his custody battle

Because good deeds and friendship matter…

Fast and Furious actor, Tyrese Gibson has revealed that Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith sent him $5 million dollars as support through his ongoing child custody battle.

Tyrese was previously being investigated after his ex-wife alleged that he hit their 10-year old daughter, Shayla. The embattled actor had constantly taken to Instagram to share his pain in emotional videos while also reiterating his love for his daughter.

He shared, “When we show UP for each-other there’s nothing that can’t be done I️ repeat nothing…… My wife kept the news away from me cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day but our family and our sister Jada-Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat,”

Diddy Brother Love says his name change was a joke

Music mogul, Diddy announced over the weekend that he was again changing his name and this time, he would be known as LOVE aka Brother Love.

But it looks like Brother Love has had a talk with himself and he’s changing his mind.

He took to Instagram yesterday to explain that he “was only playing” and would be sticking with the name, Diddy. “Well ladies and gentlemen, today I’ve come to the conclusion that you cannot play around with the Internet. Due to an overwhelming response from the media out there and just due to there not wanting to be any confusion, I was only joking. I didn’t change my name“, he said.

If everything else he’s said sounds like BS to us, one thing is true: You can’t play with the internet.
