Best of Nollywood Awards has released its nominees list

Months after calling for entries for its 2017 edition, the nominees for the Best of Nollywood awards have been announced.

In 34 categories, the BON awards recognises efforts from not just the English-speaking Nollywood but also the Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo sections of the industry.

In the Best Actor in a Leading Role (English) category, Sambasa Nzeribe, Gabriel Afolayan, Alexx Ekubo, Joseph Benjamin, Paul Utomi and Bolanle Ninalowo have been nominated.

Omotola Jalade, Michelle Dede, Ufuoma Mcdermott, Ivie Okujaye, Rahama Sadau and Esther Audu are going to head to head in the Best Actress category.

Slow Country, Okun, Tatu, What Lies Within and Oloibiri are the contenders in the Movie of the Year category.

Usher denies herpes allegations in new response to lawsuit

Singer, Usher has filed a response to the lawsuit claiming he exposed two women and a man to genital herpes.

In his response, Usher denies having sexual contacts with the complainants hence ruling out the possibilities of infecting them with the incurable disease.

According to TMZ, “Usher claims the 2 women and the man don’t have a legal claim because anything Usher might have done was unintentional”.

The response also claims that if Usher did have sex with these people, then they “assumed the risk”.

 

Falz undergoes foot surgery

But no worries, it’s something light!

The rapper shared a photo of his heavily bandaged foot on Snapchat and Instagram on Thursday with an amusing caption: “PSG preparing to make record bid for me post-recovery. No be only @neymarjr fit collet 500k per week ? ?”

He reportedly sustained the injury while playing football so we assume it’s nothing to fret about.

 

Simisola is out!

Simi’s debut and eponymous album was released yesterday.

The x3M artiste features only Adekunle Gold on the album and has three bonus tracks: Love Don’t Care, Jamb Question and Tiff.

The 12-track album was mostly produced by Oscar with a few other tracks produced by Sess, Vtek and Seyikeys.
