The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday has dismissed speculation in some quarters that it is currently in a pool of crisis.

The State chairman of the party who is also the Enugu East senatorial candidate in the forthcoming polls, Ben Nwoye, in a statement issued in Enugu described the development as a handiwork of some PDP moles within the party.

“APC would not be distracted by such mischievous and cheap blackmail, especially now that we are poised towards wrestling power from the PDP, which had failed Nigerians, woefully in the last 16 years. There is no iota of truth in the crisis rumour rocking the APC in Enugu State; our party is peaceful and focused. We are seriously committed and determined to take over from the failed PDP at all level of government in the forthcoming general polls, the alleged crisis song is the handiwork of the PDP moles in our fold, and we are gradually flushing them out,” Nwoye said.

Nwoye said that a fact- finding committee had been put in place to fish out all the PDP moles that were determined to pull down, or launch the party into crisis.

He disclosed that as part of measures to flush out such elements, in its folds, the party has suspended its state woman leader, and deputy chairman, who he alleged had been working against the party’s growth and interest. He vowed not to rest on his oars until all the PDP moles were shown the party exit door.

Nwoye also appealed to the media to always verify issues, especially as it concerned allegations before going to the press, saying as members of the fourth estate of the real, the public depends solely on them for accurate information

He however, challenged those claiming to have been wounded at General Buhari’s Enugu campaign office, to come up with evidence of such attack. “Nobody was wounded by anybody, rather, what happened was that some of the PDP paid agents in our fold, were making attempt to forcefully penetrate into the campaign office of our presidential candidate, and they were stopped. Because their plans were foiled, they went to New Haven police station to give false information to the DPO, claiming that they were attacked, but because the police could not establish any trace of crime against any of our genuine members, no arrest was made,” he added.

Nwoye, therefore, reminded the alleged PDP agents of destabilization in the party to bear at the back of their minds that their days were numbered in the APC
