Linda Ikeji TV, the online television platform created by acclaimed blogger Linda Ikeji, announced Saturday a new reality show called Ex-Girlfriends of Nigerian Entertainers. Nothing substantial has been said about the forthcoming show, only just a poster that puts the title as an acronym: EGOE.
EGOE joins a robust slew of yet-to-be-premiered reality programming that Linda Ikeji TV has announced over a duration of six months, notably the potentially madcap Oyinbo Wives of Lagos and Ajegunle with Love.
I’m theorising that the reason for the delay of these shows is because Ikeji wants to take Linda Ikeji TV to the wide horizons of cable. And, (in extreme British accent), it’s taking forever. Made in Gidi, another upcoming reality product, mimics the superstructure of the Big Brother model. 12 housemates of obscure backgrounds living hermetically in a house, but with an interesting premise of no voting or an eventual winner. But I’m inclined to think the show might subsequently suffer rigidity and the fun, erratic elements to shake things up. We will just have to wait to see which show premieres first.
