An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) bomb exploded in the Wuse 2 district Abuja last night , damaging vehicles in the capital city.
While the destruction was minimal—with two sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and a sedan being damaged and no reported casualties—people in the nearby Crystal Lounge left in a hurry.
The bomb was said to have exploded in front of Hanan Plaza, beside the Etisalat office in the Wuse 2 district of the capital.
Abdul Mahmud, whose lives quite close to the incident told the newspaper, that the windows rattled from the force of the explosion. He later updated on his Twitter feed, “No question. It was a bomb.” Another tweet read, “You need to be in the vicinity. We were lucky tonight it didn’t happen inside the club (Crystal Lounge).”
The street was eventually closed down for investigation and the vehicles towed away by security personnel.
