The High Court in Ado-Ekiti has sentenced a father, Jimoh Ayeni and his son, Haruna Ayeni, have been given a death sentence for murdering a farmer, Chief Clement Ayeni.

According to the state prosecutor, Familoni Adeniyi, the convicts murdered the deceased at Ose Egbeda Camp in Emure-Ekiti in Ekiti East Local Government Area on 27 June, 2012 while working in his farm.

In the course of the trial, eight witnesses were called to testify for the prosecution and the defence team.

In his ruling, Justice Mosun Babatunde stated, “The sentence of the court upon you is that you be hanged by the neck until you will be dead. May the Lord have mercy on your souls.”

The judge stated that the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubts that the duo committed the murder, while ruling that the father and son should die by hanging.

  1. what was the reason behind this murder if truely the matter was investigated? the public will like to know.

  2. This judgement was a fraudulent one petition should be file to investigate d conduct of that particular justice and d case must be handle directly by appeal court in which i believe true justice shall be delievered….family affair that hav no solution very bad!
