Seven-time Nigerian footballer of the year, Ronaldinho‘s mentor at Paris Saint Germain, a member of Pele’s FIFA 100 list and arguably one of the greatest free agents Bolton Wanderers ever signed – Jay Jay Okocha – has been named as best ever player to play at Reebok/Macron Stadium – the Bolton Wanderers stadium in the last twenty years.
The list includes Ivan Campo (5th), Jussi Jaaskelainen (4th), Youri Djorkaeff (3rd), Kevin Davies (2nd).
Augustine Azuka “Jay-Jay” Okocha (44), widely regarded as the best Nigerian player of his generation and one of the greatest African players of all time, joined Bolton Wanderers in 2002, making 124 appearances and scoring 14 goals for the 143-year-old Club, originally called Christ Church FC.
The list of the best five players of all time, published on the Club’s website, described Okocha’s impact as one that “has truly never been forgotten”.
