A  man in Poland is in trouble after he had too much to drink and so decided to call on his young son to drive him home.

Mikolaj Tomaszewski is facing a jail term of five years after he made his 8-year-old son drive him home because he was drunk.

The child crashed the car and both he and his intoxicated father had to be taken to a hospital.

The Mirror reports:

A drunk father is facing up to 5 years in jail after he made his 8-year-old son drive HIM home from the pub.

He told police that he had allowed the youngster to practice driving at weekends in a local supermarket car park, and thought it would be fine for his son to drive him the short distance home.

But as the eight-year-old struggled behind the wheel of the Opel Corsa he pulled in front of a car coming the other way at a crossing, and that sent him careering over the road into a third car.

The father and son were among five people taken to hospital with cuts and bruising, and the dad was later arrested for endangering the life of a minor and causing an accident.
