Fayose wasn’t joking about ‘Stomach Infrastructure’, appoints special adviser

Regardless of how it is viewed, posterity will judge Peter Ayodele Fayose as the politician who made ‘stomach infrastructure’ a prominent issue in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Folowing his inauguration speech where he promised to appoint a ‘special adviser’ for stomach infrastructure, the newly sworn-in governor of Ekiti state, has reportedly appointed Sunday Omosilade as his Special Assistant on ‘Special Duties and Stomach Infrastructure.

Fayose hit the ground running in his role as governor, with multiple appointments. Modupe Alade was appointed as the Secretary to the State Government, while Idowu Adelusi will given the appointment of Chief Press Secretary.

The pair had previously worked with Fayose during his first tenure, with the former serving as a Permanent Secretary in the state, while the latter served as his spokesperson.

The appointments came a few hours after Fayose took the oath of office in Ado-Ekiti, releasing a statement through the Chief Press Secretary, stressing that all the appointments were to take effect immediately.

Other appointees are Owoseni Ajayi, Special Assistant on Legal Matters, Kayode Oso, Special Assistant on Works and Infrastructure; Sola Owoeye, Special Assistant on Protocol and Sola Olowookere, Personal Assistant to the Governor (Abuja).

The rest are; Sunday Anifowose, Special Assistant on Special Duties and Stomach Infrastructure; Sunday Omosilade, Special Assistant on Domestic Matters and Lere Olayinka, Special Assistant on Information and Social Media.

Meanwhile, civil servants in the state have called off their two months strike to honour the new governor.
