The Federal Government on Monday inaugurated a 16-man technical committee to resolve the frequent clashes between farmers and herdsmen.
Minster of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau while inaugurating the committee said it has a 2-week timeline to proffer solutions to the problem.
Dambazau lamented the destruction of lives and properties that has resulted from the incessant clashes.
He said, “This technical committee is therefore, expected to work assiduously within the next two weeks to outline tentative strategy to deal with the conflict and vis-à-vis methodology for open stakeholders’ forum.
“The committee is expected to identify the problems underlying the conflict from regional and national perspectives, have an overview of past police investigations, including those that have been implemented and to highlight the successes and challenges of each.”
