Former Cameroon defender, Rigobert Song has come out of coma after he suffered from a stroke on Sunday and hospitalised.
Song will now be flown to France for medical treatment after he regained consciousness.
Dr Louis Joss Bitang A Mafok of Yaounde Central Hospital announced that Song’s blood pressure is back to normal.
“His high blood pressure has returned to normal and the cerebral haemorrhage has been controlled,” he said.
The 40-year-old played for Liverpool, West Ham United, Metz, Lens and Galatasaray.
He also had 137 appearances for his country and participated in four FIFA World Cups.
