After undergoing series of tests at the hospital she was admitted in, the Chibok girl, Susanna Hauwa Ishaya, that was found wandering the bush on Wednesday has been confirmed pregnant.

The National Chairman of Chibok Community Development Association, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, confirmed the News.

The confirmation is coming hours after the Police spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu, told a press conference at the National Information Centre in Abuja that the girl was dropped off by the insurgents along Mubi Road in Borno State at about 5 pm on Wednesday.

Susanna was picked up at Kwarihi village near Biu in Borno State after being thrown out of a moving Volkswagen Golf car.

She allegedly wandered in the bush for two days before she was rescued by villagers.

“From the tests, it was said she is pregnant, but that is still in the speculative domain because a qualified medical doctor has not confirmed that she is pregnant. However, we are still trying to establish if really she is from Chibok, because from our sources, the last name of the released girl does not tally with the surname of the person bearing the first name of the released girl captured in our records and whose father is a carpenter at Chibok. So, we are still trying to work out every detail.” Bitrus disclosed.

Chairman of Chibok Community in Abuja, Tsambido Hosea Abana also confirmed the pregnancy.

‘She is actually one of our daughters abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok. She was found in Mubi where her abductors dumped her and was later taken to Yola, the girl is four months pregnant’

He also said there were signs of physical abuses on her body, saying he believed the insurgents subjected their captives to horrible physical and sexual abuses.
