by Kolapo Olapoju

According to the Washington Post, a recent U.S. surveillance flights over northeast Nigeria, reportedly showed what appeared to be large group of girls being held together in remote locations.

The report says that in July, flights over the north east spotted a group of 60 to 70 girls held in an open field and on another occassion, they spotted roughly 40 girls in a different field.

Despite the fact that U.S and Nigerian officials don’t have enough evidence to ascertain if the two group of girls they saw are the same, they are however confident they are the Chibok girls.

A U.S defense official said the sightings are most likely the abducted girls.

He said, “It’s unusual to find a large group of young women like that in an open space. We’re assuming they’re not a rock band of hippies out there camping.”
