Chinua Achebe’s ‘There Was A Country’ recently reignited the Biafra War debate and the involvement of the other major ethnic groups; the Hausa/Fulani and Yorubas. Arguments have gone back and forth over the motive behind the war and the perceived marginalisation of Igbos in the scheme of things in Nigeria.

In this gripping video, the searchlight is beamed at the Asaba Massacre in the early months of the Civil War. It uses interviews with survivors and witnesses, and historical photos and documents to tell the story of an event that has largely been ignored for decades.

  4. DR. PHILLIP CHUKWUMA OFUME OPENS HIS MIND UNTO EASTERN REGION, IGBOS AND OTHERS

    Boston, MA August 2, 2013

We, in part undersign interviewed Dr. Phillip Chukwuma Ofume and in addition to his ground pulling political manifesto posted below, here comes what he told the east, igbos and other Nigerians.

“I speak and write Igbo more than several mainstream Igbos I met in over 16 countries. I am one of the Midwest Soldiers then called MA fighting in Biafra side. Now as the campaign 2015 moves on, take smart notice that there are no Nigerian presidential candidates that have the gout to negotiate and implement what Igbos and others want in the nation of Nigeria. See http://www.phillyimc.org/en/event/dr-phillip-chukwuma-ofume-president-nigeria-2011-complete-political-manifesto.

I am going to inspect and recall all Biafran soldiers and civilian that lost their businesses during Nigeria/Biafra Civil War and I will pay their benefits and restitution. Related goodwill MUST go round in the north, west, middle belt, south/south, etc pains earned as result of religion and ethnic riots and related conflict.

Which war and conflict on earth ended without rehabilitation of civilians and soldiers or fighters ? I have not seen one!!! To enable Nigerians forget the pains of the past, there must be just, fair and sincere confession, pardon, reconciliation, restitution, etc

To reclaim the One Nigeria we pray for, we must disdain hate and claim complimentary human-hood in nature of live and let live, respect for the creed or belief of others, pray for justice for others, etc.
