Unknown gunmen have kidnapped the Bozie Agama, a cousin of Diezani Alison-Madueke, Minister of Petroleum Resources.

Bozie was reportedly abducted at about 12.30 am on Thursday, March 19, in Yanaka Community, in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

The abductors had come for Chief Monume, Bozie’s father, but after their attempts at getting him were futile, they took away the young man.

Police spokesperson for Bayelsa Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the kidnap, saying that the command got a report shortly after the incident happened.

“At about 12:30am of today (Thursday), one Mrs. Maxwell Agama of Yenaka community reported that his son, one Joseph Agama, aged 20, was abducted by some unknown gunmen.”

“We are still working to know the number of the gunmen that carried out the attack. We don’t know the motive behind it but our men in the marine division have been alerted of the incident.”

Butswat stated that a distress call was made to the police by the victim’s father, Maxwell Agama.

This is the second sibling of Diezani that will be kidnapped in recent time, with her sister, Osiyo Agama, having been abducted in October 2014 in Port Harcourt.
