It is about to time to get ready for the 4th edition of the Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week 2016. It is scheduled to take place on the 12th and 13th of August respectively at Indoors Hall of the University of Lagos.

Here are four graduate fashion designers all attendees should make a note of on the special day. Sponsored by Wema Bank Plc, Zaron Cosmetics, Myhair Limited, Zinsu Tech and Tolumi Fashion People, we bring you the future of Nigerian fashion.

PAMELA KEKUPamela Keku – Imi Taj

At the head of ‘IMI TAJ’, the up-and-coming label fashion label in Nigeria, we have Pamela Keku-Imi Taj as the creative director. She graduated with a degree of Mass Communications from Redeemer’s University before attending Coventry University in the UK where she got her Master’s degree. Next, was the OSC College of Fashion where she acquired an intensive training in fashion where she emerged as the best graduating student. She then won a congratulatory prize in a showcase at the Nigerian Student Fashion and Design Week (NSFDW).

If you are a woman and looking for ready-to-wear clothes that are stylish and well-tailored accompanied with bespoke service, IMI TAJ is the brand for you.

Her collection at NSFDW will be titled ‘’Retro Luxe”, inspired by the 70’s era in fashion, unveiled for all to see. Her inspiration sourced from silhouettes and elements from that era the in turn, made it modern and sophisticated. Whilst, having not attended any of the past editions of the Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week, she has great expectations from this much-anticipated edition. She is stays in hope that more top designers will attend and show their support and encouragement.

We look forward to seeing what this designer has in store for us at NSFDW 2016 and in the future with IMI TAJ stores all around Lagos and Nigeria.

ASHILLAROZAE

Rosie Jacobs – ASHILLAROZAE

Rosie is the creative director of “ASHILLAROZAE”. She graduated from the University of Calabar with honours in BSc Accounting in 2013 before she then later graduated from OSC College of Fashion earlier this year. She describes herself as go-getter, a hard worker and a perfectionist. Her love for fashion started for her as far back as when she was a child where she learned that her fashion taste was different from others and would restitch her dresses to achieve the design she had imagined.

The “ASHILLAROZAE” brand is a female clothing line created to make the woman stand out and not blend in. It aims to bring art into clothing through its Couture, ready to wear and diffusion lines for women sized 4-18.  She promises to deliver skill-fully crafted pieces of very high aesthetic standard and quality. With NSFDW, she hopes it would help solve her challenges of funding and brand recognition as well as bring her brand visibility, elevation and publicity. She also expects ‘fun, breathtaking and fresh’ outfits from NSFDW 2016.

Rosie believes that in the nearest future, “ASHILLAROZAE” would be a profitable, self-funded, internationally recognised brand for retail and wholesale fashion from within and outside Nigeria.
