Here’s what we know about Izu Ojukwu’s upcoming movie ‘Power of 1’

Izu Ojukwu has cemented himself as one of Nollywood’s best directors. His 2016 movie ’76 was compelling as powerful political commentary as it was a period piece, starring Ramsey Nouah and Rita Dominic. His follow-up film Amina is yet to be released, announced last year and boasts of ambitious fight scenes as seen in the trailer. 2018 is far in its last quarter and Ojukwu is offering another project: Power of 1, which we understand was announced months ago.

Enlisting Ramsey Nouah, Annie Idibia, Alexx Ekubo, Michelle Dede, Rachel Oniga, Jibola Dabo and Padita Agu in the cast ensemble, Power of 1 is more than just a film – its conception is hinged on youth activism in our current political climate, a clarion call for young people to be pull their own weight towards having a better Nigeria. Ahead of its December 7 release, there will be a promotional tour spearheaded by lead character 2Face. In a statement from Dubre Perekeme, the tour will start with visits to King’s College on Friday and then a road show.

“The Power of 1 campaign aims to promote the belief that one person’s affirmative action can deliver positive outcomes and challenge young Nigerians to embrace the responsibility of fixing Nigeria one challenge at a time,” Perekeme said.

The movie preaches about strength in just one individual. The trailer is a little muddled though. At the end, an assassin with a rifle shoots at Ramsey Nouah from a distance as he rouses people at a rally. Check out the trailer below.
