Leading new generation church, House on the Rock has invited Nigerian-British actor David Oyelowo to Nigeria.
The star of the Oscar nominated film, Selma, is expected to be in Nigeria to talk about ‘How God can help his people’ amongst other topics, but he won’t be coming alone.
Other cast members of the flick, are also expected to come with him to Nigeria.
According to Paul Adefarasin, the senior pastor of the church, the movie which showing the life of American Civil Rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr. will also be premiering in the church.
Adefarasin said: “We’re making the premiere free of charge to all and sundry to preach the wisdom of non-violence. This is to show that elections is not a do or die affair.”
He went ahead to illustrate the idea of non-violence by giving the story of the biblical King Solomon who ordered that a baby be divided among two women claiming to be its mother.
According to him, ”Anyone who insists on the sword of violence does not really care about Nigeria. Anyone who promotes the course of violence – I assure you that our constituency will not vote for you.
“I have my personal preferences but this alter is not for politicking, it is to declare the oracle of God,” he concluded.
The time and day of Oyelowo’s visit is yet to be announced.
