Olalekan Adetoyinbo, the 18-year-old boy who allegedly killed his father in Osun must be regretting his actions now. The student would soon be charged to court for hitting his 56-year-old father, Ayodele Adetyinbo with a broken concrete block after a heated argument.

The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday, November 13 at Irojo area of Ilesa and the suspect was said to have admitted to committing the act.

In his confessional statement made available to the press, Olalekan said his father had accused him of stealing six empty kegs when he returned from school, an argument ensued, and he hit his father with a concrete block on the head.

According to the suspect, his late father sustained severe injuries which eventually led to his death.

It was gathered that the security operatives were immediately contacted and the victim was taken to the state Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The corpse of the late Adetoyinbo according to the Police is at the Wesley Guild Hospital for autopsy.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), for the state Police Command, Mrs. Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident, saying that the Police are already investigating the matter.

“An argument ensued between the boy and his father; he hit his father on the head with cement blocks and the man sustained serious injury which led to his death,” she said.

Odoro said the Commissioner of Police has directed that diligent investigation be conducted into the matter, adding that the suspect would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
