Wearing high heels, skinny pants and a tight top, a 52-year-old man dressed as a woman allegedly repeatedly asked for sex from a teenage boy in front of a Simi Valley hardware store, and was later arrested, police said.
The boy was riding his skateboard through the parking lot when he was approached by the suspect, said Simi Valley police Lt. Tony Anzilotti.
The boy rebuffed the suspect’s repeated advances and told the suspect he was 15, Anzilotti said, but the suspect persisted and gave the boy a phone number, then left.
Later, after the boy spoke with police, an officer, pretending to be the teenager, called the suspect to arrange a meeting. The suspect returned to the scene and was arrested, Anzilotti said.
Only at the time of the arrest did it become clear that the suspect was a man. “He had every outward appearance of being female,” Anzilotti said.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of annoying a child, a misdemeanor. Anzilotti declined to identify the suspect, but said he was a resident of North Hills and drove a red 2006 Toyota Avalon. He asked anyone with information on this or similar incidents to call police at (805) 583-6950.
There was no physical contact between the boy and the suspect, Anzilotti said.
