Hundreds of Deeper Life members escape death as bus catches fire (PHOTOS)

A LAGBUS conveying some members of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry on Sunday caught fire, according to PM News.

The bus which conveyed at least a hundred worshippers was returning from the ministry’s National Deeper Life Retreat on Sunday.

The bus which departed from the Deeper Life Conference Centre, DLCC, Km 42, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway caught fire on Otedola Bridge, Berger area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

Passengers were reported to have scampered for safety before officials of the Lagos State Fire Services and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA came to their rescue before the LAGBUS was burnt in the inferno.

An eyewitness, who spoke on the condition of anonymity said no life was lost in the inferno.

He said the bus might have caught fire as a result of overheating.

He added that worshippers abandoned their luggages to escape being burnt.

 

Worshippers were reported to have gathered at one side of the road singing praises to God for saving them from being burnt to death.

Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe said his men arrived the scene on time and were able to rescue worshippers and confirmed that no life was lost.
