A 35-year-old man, Olorunto Dipe, who is suspected of dealing in human parts, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Dipe confessed that he purchased a human head for N12,500 from Cotonou, Benin Republic, with the aim of selling it for N20,000.
According to a police source, the suspect was arrested on October 22, by a SARS decoy team led by SP Abba Kyari, at Ajibawo in Atan-Ota, in Ogun.
While confessing, the suspect said: “It was one Asiwaju at Ado Odo-Ota in Ogun State, who asked me to bring a human head. He said he would use it to cure me of leprosy. I went to Cotonou and bought it for N12,500 with intention of selling it for N20,000 to him. I was arrested with the head as I wanted to go and deliver it.”
The implicated Asiwaju was later arrested, but would be granted bail after denying knowing Dipe.
The suspect, appearing remorseful, stated that: “If I am released, I will stop dealing in human heads. Please tell the police to forgive me; I will not do it again.”
Haaaa, wonders will never cease
