IPOB: Abia governor Ikpeazu lifts curfew on Aba

Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has lifted the curfew imposed on the commercial city of Aba.

What happened:

  • Governor Ikpeazu had declared a 6am to 6pm curfew in Aba after some members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) clashed with soldiers.

What is happening:

Enyinnaya Appolos, the governor’s chief press secretary said it is as a result of the improved security situation in the city.

He commended residents for complying with the curfew.

He also thanked the security agencies for their efforts, urging them to ensure the protection of lives and property.
