Jafaru Isa’s arrest and release ‘was like a drama from Nollywood’ – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti state, has described as shady, the arrest and release of Jafaru Isa, an associate of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Isa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, was arrested for receiving N170 million from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The party urged the Federal Government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to explain the release of Isa.

The anti-graft agency had stated that the former military administrator of Kaduna State, returned N100 million out of the money collected from Dasuki, hence his release.

In a statement released on Wednesday by the State Publicity Secretary, Jackson Adebayo, the party said the arrest and release of Isa was staged by the federal government and the EFCC.

The opposition party challenged the EFCC to make public the balance of what was received from Isa.

“The whole thing was like a drama from Nollywood where you can see the end of a film from the beginning. The arrest, purported refund of N100 million by Isa and his eventual release was a charade taken too far.”

“The EFCC and the Federal Government should explain to the world what was the money collected by Isa meant for as was done to other cases since the beginning of the indiscriminate arrest and perpetual detention of the PDP members in the same category.”
