Just In: Buhari reportedly admits seeing Ganduje’s alleged bribery videos

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday reportedly spoke on the trending issue of the bribery allegations involving Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje who appeared in a series of videos published by online medium, Daily Nigerian that allegedly showed him collecting kickbacks in dollars from a contractor handling projects in the state.

The President who is currently in France is reported to have touched on the issue while addressing a group of Nigerian students in the country, as he asked rhetorically:

“That aside, haven’t you watched the videos of the governor stuffing dollars under his gown?

We gave the videos to security agencies for vetting. And we will surely take action on the matter if he is found guilty,” one of the participants quoted the president as asking while demonstrating how the governor was stashing bundles of dollars under his babbarriga.

Although the president is reported to have berated Ganduje for taking kickbacks from contractors, he is quoted to have praised the governor for completing the projects abandoned by the administration of his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Kwanwaso, who he (Buhari) said accused of diverting funds meant for projects of presidential campaign.

As reported by the Daily Nigerian, PresidentBuhari said the former Presidential Aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) started projects (he commended Governor Ganduje for completing) but diverted the money for presidential campaign.

“This are the projects he (Kwankwaso) started but diverted the balance of the money to go and contest for presidency instead of completing them.

The good projects started by Kwankwaso in education and healthcare were completed by Ganduje. If it were another person, the projects may not be completed,” the president reportedly said.
