The State Security Service (SSS) on Friday released a member of Presidential Investigative Committee on Arms Procurement, Muhammed Umar after 5 months in custody.
Umar was arrested in June for alleged money laundering.
It was gathered that the SSS had continued to detain Umar despite an order by trial judge, Justice Dimgba.
It was further learnt that Dimgba on Thursday vowed not to continue with the trial until the defendant is released.
Following Mr. Dimgba’s threat on Thursday, the SSS released the commodore on Friday, it was learnt.
