Kidnapped Akwa Ibom politician regains freedom

Former Chairman of Ikot-Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Amaete Ntuk, who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen has regained his freedom, Vanguard reports.

Ntuk was said to have been freed on Tuesday morning by his abductors.

The politician was kidnapped with his wife last Saturday around Ekparakwa community in Oruk Anam Local Government, a gateway to Ikot Abasi.

However, it is unknown if the N1.5m ransom demanded by his abductors was paid.
