Kidnapped Deputy Vice-Chancellor of TASUED released by abductors

Professor Olusoga Olusanya, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, who was kidnapped on Monday has been freed by his abductors. The police in Ogun State have confirmed that Olusoga was released on the night of Tuesday, 14 October.

He was kidnapped alongside his driver on Odogbolu-Ijebu-Ode-Ore-Benin expressway, on their way back from an official assignment. The driver was later released by the kidnappers, but the deputy VC was taken to an unknown destination.

After his abduction, the police stated that they had commenced an investigation into the matter, only for him to be released over 24 hours later.

Spokesperson for the Ogun State Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed his release, adding that the don had re-united with his family.

Despite confirming that he had been freed, the police, however, failed to disclose details of the terms of release, and if any ransom was paid to facilitate the release of Olusoga.
